“Follow Me” is a phrase coined by the late great Tupac Shakur, along with “To lead the Wild into the ways of the man” in his song “Hail Mary”. $onny includes both him AND Tupac as leaders by switching “To lead the Wild into the ways of the man” to “As WE lead the wild into the ways of the man.” In this track $onny XL is telling his audience “Follow Me”, guiding them down a path of his environment, showcasing the anger, confusion, danger & destruction him and those around him overcame and gained knowledge from to become better. Relating to the listeners that can relate to the same environment and situations who may be lost in growth (“the wild”) and leading them to the ways of the man they can become after getting through life’s obstacles. This heavy track captures real-life events embedded in instruments that create an eerie setting, lead by an ominous tribal flute that acts as a war call.
